Time Management For Success In Bodybuilding And Life

Time Management For Success In Bodybuilding And Life This is a three part lecture series I did on YouTube which was a departure from my normal videos.  This was a real class, meaning that if you want to get a lot out of it then you need to do the homework!  Success in bodybuilding is ALL about time management and this three lecture class uses the Stephen Covey book "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" as the course textbook. Steel Man Competition

I'm proposing a new event, the "Steel Man Competition". We have the Ironman triathlons which are purely endurance (biking, swimming, running). Then we have the powerlifting and crossfit competitions which are lifting based. Then we have the "Tough Mudders" which are cardio obstacle courses. What I propose is an event that requires both strength and endurance to excel at. Here is my proposed "Steel Man Competition": Climb 30' rope Swim 1.5 km Do 100 pullups without kipping Run 10 km Do 100 full ROM pushups Flip tractor tire 50 yards Bike 40 km This is basically an olympic triathlon with...

Cold Therapy For Strength

Cold Therapy For Strength Some findings at Stanford University indicate that keeping cool might provide serious boosts to muscular endurance and strength.  Please not that this is not from research but some ad hoc testing done in the lab.  They found that one bodybuilder went from 160 pullups max to 620 pullups over a 6 week period using this "cool-therapy", thats a lot more improvement than can be explained away by placebo effect. In 2009, it was discovered that muscle pyruvate kinase, or MPK, an enzyme that muscles need in order to generate chemical energy, was highly temperature- sensitive. At...

How to deal with bad workouts

How to deal with "bad workouts" Dealing with "bad workouts" is part of bodybuilding. Handle them wrong and you get demoralized and might lose interest in fitness altogether.  Handle them properly and every workout puts you one notch closer to your goal. First, why did I put "bad workout" in quotes? Because in my book, the only bad workout is one when you get injured.  Getting injured is the worst thing that can happen to a bodybuilder because you can lose months or years of progress and just one careless lift can cause it.  If you get injured, thats a...
