I'm 44 and have been involved in woodworking and technology from a very early age, starting with remote control airplanes in grade school.  Although I am an engineer, shop classes were always my favorite in high school.  I have always loved working with my hands and making things.  I began making furniture back in high school, and have continued to this day.  My love of building things continued with the construction of two houses.  I completed all of the work myself except for the foundation/sheetrock and I'm currently in the process of getting my general contractors license.   Building the airplane is a wonderful cross-disciplinary project involving woodworking, metalworking, engineering and electronics.   I got private pilot license (single engine land) on 4/14/1979 when I was in high school and have been active in aviation since then.

Other Projects

1968, built first flying model at age 7.   Since then, building and flying remote control gliders has been part of my life.  This kit was given to me by my uncle Don, it still sits on my shelf.
I love woodworking and do custom furniture, here is some recent work: Scooby's Custom Furniture
Tilework is probably the most satisfying part of building a house for me, here is the tiling I did in the house that I finished in Oct 2005.
I love restoration work, it's a great excuse to take things apart and see how they work.  Here is the story of my favorite bike that was rescued from the junkyard.
I've built two houses, here is my most recent house which was finished in Oct 2005.  I love the satisfaction that comes from doing all the work myself but I'm in the process of getting my general contractor's license.
