Here are some good books you might check out from your public
library or you can buy them from amazon by clicking on the links.
Mario Lopez Knockout Fitness
is the book I would have written if I had Mario's looks, talent and resources -
I'm just bitter :) Mario presents realistic programs with the focus on
health, not fad. Its a great book for someone wanting to turn their life
around but doesnt know quite where to start.
Body for life
by Bill Phillips is similar to Mario's "Knockout Fitness" but I dont like the
supplement-pushing aspect of it. Its a good, realistic program and
zillions of people have transformed their bodies with his approach. Book of Muscle
is one of the better modern books on the market. Strength Training Anatomy and
Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding are older books
but still have lots of ideas for different exercises - if you are ever
scratching your head trying to decide what new lat exercise to do, these can
help you out. If you are interested in why some people choose to be
vegetarians, read
The China Study. "Built" by Bob Paris is out of print but is an excellent book, you can buy it
used or find it in your library.
