Squats have more risks for injuries, I'd say that Lunges are better, I've seen better results, and they're not as risky as Squats.

Lunges do not work nearly as many muscles as squats and as such, produce less of a response from your body. Performing squats correctly with good form not only works out your entire lower body, core and parts of your upper body, but also trigger a much larger testosterone production from your body as well, which also promotes muscle growth.

Goals: Get a 6 pack by lowering my bodyfat to 8%
Get more ripped and defined, have a beach body, and be less "bony"
Continue to improve at basketball and become a deadly offensive weapon
Eventually build muscle and be bigger and stronger
Ultimate goal: Get an 8 pack!
