Good exercise but depends on the person the most. I did them for awhile when I just started but felt I wasn't improving enough. Best to do them on the ground though, helps avoiding the shoulder pains that are so occurent with this movement.

Do as many as necessary until you feel the burn :)

Add some more weight You should be able to do a maximum of between 8-12 reps

from my (limited) experience I would like to say that (generally) people should go lighter on this exercise the reason being that if you do it with too much weight, you will actually let the biceps to do the work for you (and from a VERY dangerous angle) - this exercise is in my opinion really great , but ONLY if you realise your potential and FOCUS on training your CHEST, not your BICEPS

How much weight should I be able to fly in relation to my BW? Right now i'm at about 20% with straight elbows.

i am almost working with 30's and i weigh 150lbs. but the weight of an exercise to bw isn't really a good way to figure. seeing how seeing gains and gaining weight are two fairly different things

As a gymnast, my bodyweight is incredibly important to me. Five pounds of muscle without the ability to support at least that amount of weight on every part of me is a problem. So proportion (or disproportion) becomes a major issue.
