It is not, but you are claiming that it's the ONLY thing. That is FAR from the truth I am sorry. But I said play a sport not watch, ask the friends of yours to stop drinking with you and start a sport instead. Lets see how fast they turn on you? and if not then kudos you might have some decent friends.

Sorry you are unable to work on a car, I have a BA in Computers Electronics and Engineering so I like to tinker with that sort of stuff. I also like getting on the PC and researching. I also go out dancing with the wife, but we do not need to drink to have fun.

Like I said I am not trying to talk negative or criticize I only want to help you if you really wish to quit drinking.

Sorry for the typo's I am getting tired.

Live and let live...
I must agree with Kanoo though, allthough I don´t approve of using that language here.
I also go drinking on saturdays, once a week.
Does it set me back a great deal? Yes it does.
Is it worth it to me. Yes it is.
Do I care if my pecs are smaller because of that or I cant run that long or fast on mondays? Not in the least.
I don´t live for bodybuilding, I use it as a tool to feel better. I like having the weekly night out with friends and drinking. It also makes me feel better. Are these friends? A few of them really are, some are just people I hang out with, but is that a bad thing?
I do wanna state one drinking night doesnt set you back a whole week, it sets you back like one or two days, else I wouldn´t make progress since I do a drinking night once a week...
I can´t say I don´t approve drinking, I can´t say I advise against it, but you have to know it is bad for you, it isn´t healthy, it causes problems, but I find it rather fun and to me its worth it, and thats a decision people have to make for themselves.
Thats why I find Scoobys video great on it, it clearly states the disadvantages, and the setbacks you will have in bodybuilding. But I think he slightly exaggerates the disadvantages.
But to be fair:
IT IS POSSIBLE TO BUILD MUSCLE AND LOOSE WEIGHT AND HAVE ONE DRINKING NIGHT A WEEK.
It´s way easier and WAY faster  and WAY more effective and WAY more healthy to do it without the drinking night, but it is possible.

what i've learned is that the time we spend trying to persuade drinkers to stop drinking is way too long to actually be worth it. it's as simple as: they'll regret it, as time passes by.

A good life skill is to learn how to have fun while sober.  A group that is only good friends when drunk may not be the best friends you could choose.

Try this once, it can be entertaining and enlightening.  When you and your buddies go drinking, go with them but secretly pour yours out while no one is looking and just pretend to be drunk like they are.  Not only can this be very, very humorous but it can be very enlightening as well and you might find that once you see how people act when they are drunk you wont want to be part of it anymore.   It will be difficult at first when they are sober and alert but as your buddies get trashed it will be very easy to pour yours out.  Take swigs now and then so they know you are drinking, but just now and then, make sure 90% of your alcohol ends up in the plants and under the table.

Nutritional nazi Grin Thanks for giving my laugh of the day Cheesy
A great job, especially regarding your younger fans.  There seems to quite an audience to this subject, since I often see some 16-19year olds at the gym, working out like there's no tomorrow and afterwards discuss the amount of beer crates the might need for an evening with four people.

If you have the opportunity, you might try alcohol-free wheat beer (no, I'm not a bavarian).  It usually has less calories, doesn't poison your body with alcohol and is approved as an isotonic drink.  My favourite alternative once a month Roll Eyes

haha well unfortunantly im one of those 16-19 year olds (19 to be excact) that go to the gym and often talk about how wasted im gunna get on the weekend.  and i also take creatine so im a double bad guy.  but the amount of creatine i take is only 5 grams a day so my liver shouldnt be on deaths door.  especially since it didnt have any trouble filtering that 6 pack of rum followed buy a bottle of straight shit last weekend haha.  but seriously i know its bad but am i a pro bodybuilder. .  no.  do i eat right. . yes.  do i train hard. .  yes.  do i get results. .  very yes.

I dont believe getting drunk one night a week has affected my progress in the gym or hurt my liver in reguards to also supplimenting. . .  i guess all the rum i drank might have hurt it a little though haha.  I'm young and having fun and in the coming years ill most likely only drink on special occasions or on the odd weekend. . .  ill never be the "have a few after work" or "have a few to fall a sleep" kinda guy.

im not defending alcohol.  but me being a 19 year old who needs to live his life i think . .  for now atleast that the weekend binge isnt THAT bad, yes its unhealthy in general and if i continue to do so for a number of years it will hurt ones liver. . .  but in reguards to my progress in the gym ehhh not so detrimental. .  in my opinion.

P. S its my first post and i would like to say scooby your a champ

i dont smoke, do drugs, eat junk food, drink soft drink.  just have 'funtime' once a week. . .  i could stay home and do nothing and recieve 81 missed calls and 4085 messages saying "where are you soft cock come out and quit being a girly sperm" or something along those lines.   If i dont go out i regret it, and if i dont drink ill be the sober kid that doesnt wanna be around a room full of drunks.  .  .

Language like that in your second post? You are kidding me, aren't you?

When I was single it was always:

"Weights Before Dates"

It was Way Cool to hit the Gym in the early evening, get showered and shaved.  Looking and smelling good.

Plus all the single ladies were at the gym.   Wink

Imagine the Possibilities!
