i find the "subgoals" idea to be perfect for someone who lacks motivation.  those little milestones/achievements can really help someone stay motivated in their fitness program.  good thinking, Cyber!

hey Cyber i have a question.  can we track the heart's progress by measuring resting heart rate?  i've heard that the lower the resting heart rate (under 60 beats per minute, considered "bradychardia", i think?), the more trained it is.  is this true?  thanks!

Yep, a resting heart rate under 60 is excellent and you can certainly keep track of it. Keep in mind when measuring your RHR you should do so in the morning, before you get out of bed, as even standing up and going to the bathroom can raise it: Wake up, quietly lie on the bed for 15 minutes and then take your pulse.

Freddie and I say thanks for all the friendly comments!

He strolled around my feet, so I decided to pick him up and make him part of the video. At that point he decided he doesn't want to be famous Wink

And no, Scooby and I are not competing; I'd say our videos are complementary to each other Smiley

would it also be enough to sit down for 5min resting and doing nothing and than check it?
How dependable are wrist machines that measure your heart rate and bloodpressure ?
mine sometimes shows me 43, which i think is a bit low....(though i'm really fit at the moment...)

How reliable they are depends on the machine and if you handle it correctly. When in doubt do a second reading or control it by using the finger and watch method.

And even after sitting still for five minutes your pulse will most likely be higher than when you measure it after waking up and lying in bed for 15 minutes.

What I do is I design my workout programs in Notepad, and the second thing is, I use Soy Protein, and everybody knows how good that taste, so I make an amazing smoothie out of it, so that's my reward after my workout. That's my motivation lol. Tongue

Wow thanks for the vid. I've actually started making subgoals for myself as you suggested. I guess the vague notion of infinite strength speed, and endurance is not a clear enough benchmark after all...
