As many of you all know, cottage cheese is a spectacular food for any of your fitness objectives, be they gaining muscle or cutting fat.

However, eating cottage cheese as a staple in your diet can make you cringe at the very thought of eating the (relatively bland tasting) hump of nutritious, protein rich cheese.  So, I figured I would share some good food combinations I've been using to "spice up" my cottage cheese.

Also, post some ways you make your cottage cheese more bearable.

1.  Hot sauce - splash a few swigs of your favorite hot sauce on your cottage cheese and mix lightly.  Cottage cheese tends to absorb the flavor of hot sauces very well.

2.  Black and red pepper - I know this sounds weird, but this is a great tasting way to add unique texture to cottage cheese.

3.  Chipotle BBQ sauce + squeeze of lemon - this has a very tangy taste to it, try this with chicken and I guarantee you'll like it.

4.  1 cup cottage cheese, two healthy spoonfuls of sour cream (low fat), hot sauce, and taco sauce (note: NOT salsa, taco sauce is smoother) - use this as a great nacho dip.  Once it's mixed together and tried with a chip, the texture is fantastic.

5.  Berries- Add any kind of berry- raspberries, strawberries, or blueberries work best, and stir lightly.  This makes for a great dessert that will satisfy your sugar cravings but still be nutritious.

What are some ideas you all have?

I always mix it with a lot of vegetables: onion, cucumber, tomato, pepper, radish, chive, pickled cucumber (usually 3 or 4 from this list). Just chop it and mix together with a spoon or fork. I also usually add a little milk.
Sometimes i add tuna (i was surprised that it is tasty together).
I take 500g of cottage cheese, add veggies, some spices and i eat it on 2-3 meals during day with some whole grain bread.
It's my most favourite meal with a lot of proteins.

I agree %100. Even if it's kind of salty, I still love eating my cottage cheese with sweet fruits, it can even be better. Nothing like fresh, cold, sweet watermelon with hard cottage cheese in the middle of a summer.

Ooh nice ideas.

I've seen that stores tend to sell cottage cheese with fruit chunks now- I've only ever been able to see it as a "salty" food as opposed to something you'd mix with fruit (although I have tried berries!), but I can definitely see the appeal.
