done this for the 1st time yesterday after watching this, after 2 sets of 10 felt lke my shoulders were burning. definetly adding this in2 my routine now. Thanks scooby  Got some weird looks tho in the gym dont think any 1 does this in my gym.

Does anyone else have there upper lip curl up like Elvis when they do shrugs? Mine has always done that, like i am rubbing against a nerve.

Really? i see a lot of people doing these shurgs, but incorrectly. Theres a hammer streanth plate loaded machine for this but it's basically useless, lots of people do 1/3 squats 1/3 calf raises 1/3 shurgs. And, i see a lot of people rolling i think most people consider rolling your shoulders proper form these days.

sorry, but i have to disagree with you on this one. i use the hammer strength plate loaded machine, and it's worked wonders for my traps in only a few months.

Haha, mine does this too  I can control it, though, but then I have to concentrate more on the upper lip than the shrugging ^^

I love shrugs man...you can go so heavy! I use 200 lbs worth of dumbells when i shrug.

I think Upright row is alot more effective
It's easier to keep form with upright rows but for traps and only traps shrugs are better. And, the machine weights are kinda bias, the work to some peoples advantages and lag to some peoples disadvantage. Personally the Hammer Streanth machine for shrugs doesn't really work for me, not much range of motion.
