Scooby,
I have an idea for your next video. I think you should show everyone how to do a Clean and Press with a barbell, with good form, and a weight that you can do more than 15 reps with.

I AM a particularly big fan of the clean and press...But it can definitely can be unsafe if performed incorrectly. A Scooby video might help someone correct their form before it's too late.

Clean and press (as any Olympic movement) is extremely complex and requires lots of practice qualified trainer to fully grasp and not injure yourself (these are probably most injury-prone exercises when done with bad form). And when I see that Scooby does a 10 min video explaining a basic dumbbell press, I guess a clean & press video would be several hours long, and it still wouldn't do any good since people would not have someone to later check on their form.

I don't think you can teach this properly with a video. It takes a long time to perfect the clean technique. Plus, I doubt that scooby even does them since he's said he has back pain issues if I remember correctly, so such lifting would probably be torture for him.

this is really just another one of those exercises where the risk way outweighs the benefit, like deadlifts... it's just trying to mush more exercises into one movement where they don't belong

That's a very odd opinion. Yes it can be dangerous, but only if you rush too much weight too quickly. But i'd certainly say risk doesn't outweigh the benefits - these movements are excellent growth and strength stimulators!

I've always thought of the clean & press as an Olympic-specific powerlifting-type exercise, not really for bodybuilders

No. As in a very slight increase in muscle mass if those muscles are being worked in conjunction with the stimulatory-releasing exercise! Unless you get prescribed somatropin or similar (synthetic growth hormone) by a Doctor, your height won't increase more than is genetically/environmentally determined. And you're not going to get a prescription unless you're going to be an absolute midget and are diagnosed with a deficiency!!
