Hey guys,

I just got my whey protein (the type Scooby recommended) and I was curious what I should use to measure it. I have measuring cups, but they're in mLs. 1 mL = 1 gram for water, but I'm sure thats not the case for the protein. So that's my first question, how do you measure how many grams of protein you're scooping up?

Second question, I weigh 115 lbs, should I drink 115 g of protein each day divided into 6 portions? So 20 g per shake x 6 times a day? Naturally, I get protein from other sources in my diet, so should I only intake 80g from the whey per day to account for these other sources?

Thanks,
Mike

If it was the Optimum Nutrition protein, shake the bottle around until the scoop un-buries itself. It's probably about 2/3 a cup but not sure.

So people guestimate how many grams they're getting?

No, they use the scooper provided inside the tub of protein, and read the label to see how much is inside one scoop.

Again, if you really bought the one Scoob recommends, it's 24g per serving and the scoop should be included.

Since I buy the protein powder over and over and over I save a couple of scoops as spare just in case one is not present or really burried in the future.

Same here, it's a good practice for sure! Also you could take that scoop, fill it with water and dump into a glass measuring cup to see if it = any normal measurement in case of emergency you could take note of that amount and use a graduated measuring cup as a temp replacement.
