Shortcut To Looking Massive
There is a shortcut to looking muscular and massive but its not what you think. Its not a pill, its not an injection, its not a mega-superblast-set, its something much simpler and easier and its absolutely free!
Over my 30+ years of bodybuilding I have discovered some rather interesting and unexpecte things. My weight hasnt varied much at all in the last 20 years but I have noticed a very interesting phenomiom. Without fail, when I gain 5 pounds, nobody notices anything but when I LOSE 5 pounds, everyone comes up to me and says “OMG, you have gotten HUGE – what are you doing!” At first, I just thought it was lifes random wierdness but when it happened year after year, I figured it out – bodybuilding is illusion. Reducing your weight so that you are ripped makes you look much more massive even though you have LOST weight.
Adding muscle is a very slow process. Losing fat by comparison can be done very rapidly, about 10x faster for most people. If you doubt this, plug your numbers into the following calculators:

Although adding muscle is the most straightforward way to look more muscular, its very slow. Unless you are a teen newcomer to fitness, about 10 pounds a year is all the muscle you can hope to gain and that does not make that does not make much of a visual impact – and thats with a full year of work. In contrast, most people who have been lifting can drop to 7% bodyfat in a month or two (aka cutting) and get the “Wow!” factor fast. Its how many a “before and after” contest has been won.
Lets look at the many reasons this illusion works. The first is the reason that many people have the genetic fortune to be able to add fat all over rather than just on the belly. When these folks get fat, they just big all over. Trouble is when someone is fat you cant really tell if they are just fat or muscular and fat. To look muscular you need a few things, first of which is definition so that you can see the muscles. Definition = low bodyfat. If you can see striations and muscles writhing like pythons under the skin then it makes you look muscular. The other thing that makes one look massive is proportions – its all about proportions! Your chest circumference in relation to your waist circumference – in other words, your V-taper. Since most people store the fat on the belly and in the love handle region, when they are fat they completely lose their V-taper. Even though they might have a powerful, big chest and flaring lats they are completely masked by the big belly and flaring love handles. Looking massive is all about definition and proportions.
